Wisdom in Action:
A MovementPractice
Wisdom in Action: A Movement Practice, is a non-judgmental and non-competitive movement practice for all bodies. Attention to breath supports a deepening awareness of sensations and the expansive potentials of our bodies as we explore and move through space. Experience your unique ways of responding to music, voice or silence with gentle prompts.
"Action isn't a burden to be hoisted up and lugged around on our shoulders. It is something we are. The work we have to do can be seen as a kind of coming alive... it's an awakening to our true nature, a releasing of our gifts."
Joanna Macy
"Over many years of dancing, performing, teaching and studying I continue to expand my understanding of what dance and movement means to me. Exploring practices that have allowed me to deepen my awareness of my inner body and inner self has been the most fulfilling experience and the most welcome gift that could possibly accompany me into this later stage of my life. Observation of nature is the greatest teacher! I am indebted to the many wonderful teachers I've had throughout my life--some whose classes I have taken and whose work I continue to study and digest, and some who are collaborators and supporters of my work--and of course those whose teaching I reflect upon through the archive of body and mind-- including family, lived experience. The thousands of amazing students that I've had in my classrooms have been profound and generous teachers as well. I'd like to share my process and learning with you. That is why I am offering this practice."
